Cold’s Picks

Yes, it’s another addition of Cold’s Picks.

This edition presents two noteworthy movies that are well worth the watch.

Both movies are similar in that they’re both Touching. You can’t help but be Touched when you watch these movies, unless you’re Donald Trump and/or Vladimir Putin. They’re Touched alright — Touched as in Psychos and these movies are not for the likes of them and their ilk. They couldn’t possibly comprehend them because they’re incapable of comprehending anything that doesn’t put them at the center of it.

The first movie is On Body & Soul, a Hungarian film written and directed by writer/director Ildikó Enyedi.

Both films are foreign, by the way, and both received many awards and high accolades, and for good reason. They’re both Masterpieces. They’re both tremendous Works of Art.

I don’t want to give too much away so I’ll just present them below with links and reviews that aren’t spoilers.

The second film is The Scent of Green Papaya, a Vietnamese Visual Masterpiece shot entirely on a sound stage in Paris although you would never know it. The attention to aesthetics in this film is almost overwhelming. It’s not only Touching, but it’s also Tastefully Sensual.
