The reaction to the death of Fidel Castro is not surprising considering the impact he’s had on The World since spearheading the successful Cuban Revolution against the Dark Heart of America’s National Security State. It threw the whole Kitchen Sink at him and the Cuban Revolution and yet Fidel & The Cuban People were still able to resist & thrive given the severe obstacles with which The National Security State burdened them.
What Fidel and Che and The Cuban People have shown is that you, we, can successfully RESIST, and that Resistance is a socially and societally Evolutionary Process. Revolutions ultimately go around and around, so it’s not enough, and it’s not adequate, to be a Revolutionary and to be Revolutionary in perpetuity. Instead, you, we, must be Evolutionary in perpetuity. Evolutionary means Constant Vigilance and Constant Improvement of The Social Condition. It is the last thing The National Security State ever wants you to be because The Static Status Quo social arrangement and its attendant structure & institutions tremendously benefits the few who claim title to it all, including title to you.
I ran across the following comment at Ian Welsh’s blog per this blog post. It perfectly reflects my sentiments about Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and the Cuban Revolution. What the Cuban People did, what they’re still doing, is simply amazing. So-called “Americans” like to brag about the American Revolution, but for some odd reason, they can’t applaud anyone else’s revolt against Tyranny. Funny, that. Or maybe not so funny, because like Castro in Cuba, the Plutocrats who own America have become the Tyrants the Revolution sought to displace. It’s traveled 360 degrees because, afterall, it’s a Revolution, and that’s why Revolutions, and being Revolutionary, is only one step in the Evolutionary Process. If you get stuck on that step, it’s like being stuck in a Do-Loop. Round & round you go — when you get off nobody knows.
In the next several weeks I will be typing up a couple of blog posts entitled Misinforming The Malformed discussing the role of Education & The “Free” Press in America. The American Press Coverage of Fidel Castro‘s death and anything related to Cuba is telling, but also, what most Americans learn in school about Cuba is also very telling. It’s no secret for anyone who has a shred of inquisition that America’s National Security State, to include the CIA but also inclusive of so much more, absolutely, positively, unequivocally HATES Fidel Castro, Che Guevara and the Cuban Revolution. It’s been trying to undermine it and undo it, and those who led it, since Batista fled to Miami where he was protected by the cowardly bullies that comprise the American National Security State. Afterall, he allowed them to fleece Cuba and the Cuban People under his “watch,” as he, Fulgencio Batista, was doing the same with some added torture & murder of the Cuban People for good measure.
My son learned about Cuba in school this past year and never once was Fulgencio Batista mentioned. He said pretty much all they learned was that Fidel Castro is, now was, a brutal Communist Dictator who oppresses, now oppressed, the Cuban People. Gee, I wonder who, or what, fomented that curriculum? No, I don’t wonder. I know what did. The National Security State. It determines how you’re formed, or I should say malformed, via The Education System and then, since it owns and controls The Media, determines how you’re informed, or I should say misinformed, hence the nauseating, lopsided propaganda disseminated by The Media related to the recent passing of Fidel Castro. Wake The Fuck Up, People!!! You’re being brainwashed & lied to. Your capacity for objective, independent, critical thought has been neutered. Do you want it back? Or are you content to wallow in the chains of your willful ignorance?
To conclude, I found the disparity between Obama’s statement related to Fidel Castro‘s passing and Trump’s statement to also be very telling. Obama’s is masterful. Trump’s is crude & pathetic, but instructive in that it reveals, as every statement he makes does, that he is a Hypocrite & a Walking Contradiction.
Here are Trump’s statements:
This is YOUR President. Not MY President. I don’t have a President and don’t want one, thank you very much.
The exclamation point indicates that Trump is celebrating Castro‘s death. But wait. Isn’t it, according to Trump, atrocious & horrible behavior to applaud and cheer suffering & death? Remember, during the torturous prolonged 2016 Election Season, Trump disseminated the Fake News Story about Muslims in New Jersey celebrating the destruction of the Twin Towers? He circulated and supported this Fake News Story to underscore his notion that Muslims are Barbarians who relish suffering & death, and yet, that’s exactly what he is doing with this preposterous Tweet. He’s a Walking Contradiction & a Hypocrite.
Here’s a lengthier statement Trump released about Fidel Castro. If I’m reading the sentiment of Trump’s statement correctly, he has nothing but disdain for Tyrannical Dictators, but maybe I’m just imagining it.
The world marks the passing of a brutal dictator who oppressed his own people for nearly six decades. Fidel Castro’s legacy is one of firing squads, theft, unimaginable suffering, poverty and the denial of fundamental human rights. ~ Donald Trump
Okay, fair enough. For the sake of argument, let’s say Trump’s assessment is true and it’s not any more complex than how he describes it. Now, let’s look at another Brutal Dictator and Trump’s description of him; Vladimir Putin.
Look at Putin — what he’s doing with Russia — I mean, you know, what’s going on over there. I mean this guy has done — whether you like him or don’t like him — he’s doing a great job in rebuilding the image of Russia and also rebuilding Russia period. ~ Donald Trump to Larry King
What’s the difference? Cuba is not a threat to America, therefore, if you’re a bully, and Donald Trump & The National Security State are bullies and cowards, you pick on the ones who can’t and won’t threaten you. Bullies are cowards and they ALWAYS choose easy targets. Donald Trump, with his contradictory treatment of Castro versus Putin and Cuba versus Russia, is a perfect example of a bully & a coward. But that’s not surprising when you consider, when he was young, he liked to throw rocks at toddlers while they sat, or stood, there defenseless in their playpens.
Now, let’s look at Obama’s statement related to the news of Fidel Castro‘s death. Much more intelligent & measured. It’s a neutral statement that recognizes and heralds the fact that Castro & the Cuban Revolution had a tremendous impact on World Affairs. One of the impacts, and the most important one as far as I’m concerned, I’ve already discussed in this blog post, but in the interest of remaining neutral, Obama doesn’t spell that out. He doesn’t “go there.” He leaves it to the reader to determine the extent and nature of the impact Fidel Castro & the Cuban Revolution had on The World as we know it — or think we know it.
We know that this moment fills Cubans — in Cuba and in the United States — with powerful emotions, recalling the countless ways in which Fidel Castro altered the course of individual lives, families, and of the Cuban nation. History will record and judge the enormous impact of this singular figure on the people and world around him. ~ Barack Obama
